The St Albans Performing Arts school
Theatrix
Successfully teaching children and young adults since 1980
Why We Are Proud:
Theatrix has been teaching for 45 years. Many of our former students have gone on to study drama and stage management at universities, drama schools and careers in directing, writing, film production and media.
Our students get the opportunity to be in television productions, TV commercials and films. The most recent being Three Bags Full, Beetlejuice II and the new Bridget Jones - Edge of Reason. They are frequently called to audition which makes us proud!
The doors are open to children of all abilities . We have seen shy children blossom, youngsters who struggle with reading issues, write plays and see them performed. No one is excluded.
Simon Godwin says:
"Rosemarie was my first teacher and nurtured my passion for acting and making theatre. Acting, she taught us, wasn't just about individual success but working with a group to create drama celebrating the strange beauty of the everyday world. Rosemarie made us feel like we could move mountains. I know hundreds of pupils who have since benefitted from her wisdom, passion, and generosity. Long may Theatrix flourish!"
Simon Godwin is the Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC.
He was previously Associate Director of London's National Theatre.
Ambika Mod - actress
We are so proud of the delightful Ambika Mod, past student of Theatrix star of This is Going to Hurt and One Day and most recently the Royal Court 2025 season.
We always knew she would make it big.
Exams
Due to dedication of the team and the hard work put in by the students, they always do well in the Trinity College London exams, usually getting Merits and Distinctions.
