In its thirty years as the St Albans performance arts school, Theatrix has always been adventurous with its productions. 2010 is no different: a new and exciting venture into musical theatre with this acclaimed contemporary classic. Originally performed at The Abbey Theatre in March, Theatrix is reprising the show this month in The Amphitheatre at St Albans School.

And what a magical location for a magical play! The Amphitheatre is in the gently sloping grounds of St Albans School close to the River Ver. You are welcome to bring a picnic for the family to enjoy before or during the play. Parking is available in the school car park. Cushions are available for hire, but you can bring your own and a rug in case it gets chilly. A licensed bar will be open before the show and during the interval. Party rates are available (and the party doesn't have to come all together for the same performance)

THE STORY
Meet Skid Row's colourful cast of characters - a naive nerd, a forlorn florist, a ditzy dame and a dangerous dentist, the streetwise Ronettes, tramps, winos, bag-ladies, crooks and conmen and, of course, the talking, man-eating plant that's over six feet tall. Seymour, an orphan and a nerd, is taken in and given a job by Mr Mushnik, the Skid Row florist. Seymour spends his time dreaming of the shop assistant, Audrey. Then, Seymour discovers a strange plant. He names it Audrey Two. Seymour soon discovers the plant's rather unique appetite. The plant grows and grows, as does Seymour's infatuation for Audrey, but who will get her first?

FEED ME!
A bittersweet story with great songs and so scarily funny and goose-pimply that children from 3 to 93 will hug themselves with delight.

8pm on Thursday 22, Friday 23 and Saturday 24 July in The Amphitheatre at St Albans School.
